The game I am playing the most at the moment is NAPOLEON: TOTAL WAR. Although I had ROME: TOTAL WAR before that, I never considered myself that much a fan of the series but then NAPOLEON came along and changed all that! I ordered it just after release and the game still has immense appeal for me.
Although there is now the sequel to SHOGUN on the shelves, what would other gamers like to see from the franchise in future? I personally would enjoy a game from the Fantasy perspective (TOLKIEN: TOTAL WAR perhaps?) or how about a Sci-Fi version with starships and aliens? Here the creators could really let their imaginations run riot without the need for a strict historical time period. Plus, of course, it may also open up the genre to more gamers who usually baulk at strategy games. Alternatively, do people think the series should just stick to historical wars instead? |

ROME was the frikkin' nuts and the first game I install on any new computer. I curse Windows Vista to this day for spoiling that game for me.

I would like to see some new features for NAPOLEON: TOTAL WAR, which could be implemented on STEAM.
How about randomly generated landscapes for single and internet battles (with a choice of random army type) and even more vairety of buildings? Windmills would be great to see, like the one which was at the battlefield of Valmy in the Revolutionary Wars! A nice idea would be the ability to capture the colours of opposing forces. This could increase the morale of the winning unit if they seize the flag and possibly gain a trait for the commander if his forces are able to come away with several in one encounter. |
