*******SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER*******

Severing someone's limb while using a tourniquet after they've been bitten to prevent them turning into a zombie is a cliche I never thought I would see in the Walking Dead show. It made me smile and long for Braindead and Sumatran Rat Monkeys.

Let's just say DON'T come to this thread if you aren't watching Walking Dead Season 3.
I can't be arsed to write Spoiler Spoiler all down the page.

My favourite part was when Rick pulled a zombie's riot helmet off and half his scalp came off with it. That was swee-eet. In other news Karl is still a waste of space and Lori's pregnancy suit...has anything ever looked so fake? Good episode. Plenty of zombie action.

When they get to the prison in the comics is when things start to go REALLY badly for them. Hopefully they bring in more of the plot of the comics to the TV show. That's looking likely now that Michonne's in it and the Governor is going to play a part. This season has the potential to be brilliant.

Good, because I'm ready for a more action based and zombie heavy season, after S2's somewhat patchy output. There was too much soap opera relationship shite and too few zombies in some episodes last season.

The comics have that soap opera relationshippy style of character interaction as a constant but when there are zombie-heavy sequences it gets really good. I think that was Robert Kirkman's aim when he started writing the comics. He wanted an ongoing character based drama that just happened to be set during the end of the world. Season 2 of the show went a bit too far into the drama though. Most people watch the show because they want to see zombies. I think the producers forgot about that. There are plot lines that worked fine in the comic that would just be tedious on screen. The first ep of season 3 was hopefully a sign of what's ahead though.

Agreed. I don't mind some relationship drama and character development is important otherwise as an audience we don't care enough. But they need to remember to strike a balance between the sides: human drama//zombie action.

yep, let's hope so. Off to a good start and I'm hoping a prison compound will provide a better setting with more possibilities than the farm which ran out after a while.
Each week Daryl makes me chuckle to myself. He's so full of energy and vitality; so clearly in his element. He was made for such times and thrives on the chase.

Yeah, Daryl has turned out to be the most interesting character. He's probably the most level headed of the group despite his origin. I like him.

It is often relentless violence but I do enjoy it.

Is everyone up to date? I just watched Friday's episode with the Governor. Is it heading in a 28 Days Later/ mad Christopher Eccleston direction? And what about you-know-who turning up?!?!?
