Default Gimme the axe. We need more guts

I knew they couldn't go wrong with a TV show about zombies. And I think this show can only get better. I was hooked from start to finish. The new survivors Grimes meets this week are already sympathetic, believable characters by the end of the episode. They are stuck in a life threatening situation but somehow this balances with the frequent, very tongue in cheek humour. And there's a scene lifted straight from Shaun of the Dead (with added intestines) that despite its preposterous nature sits so well here. Also I'm sure there were more jogging zombies. The show should be called The Jogging Dead, or at least The Speed-Walking Dead. Look at the Darkwoods productions logo at the end of the final credit reel too. I'm pretty sure that's meant to be a zombie-Stephen-King on the left hand side. Are the other zombie faces famous zombie faces? Can't wait till next week. SPOILERY SPOILERY SPOO Grimes had better beat complete shit out of his partner.

Thumbs up

Well I was almost a little disappointed with episode 2, too many characters too quickly, nameless and pointless for the most part.

And then for one glorious moment, the whole episode changed and *BAMF* there was Michael Rooker talking the talk, walking the walk and indulging in a blatant hate crime with cheerful aplomb.

Living legend!

Saved the episode for me, so far I'd like a few casualties, thin that roster a bit. But I half know what's coming, good old source material.

And the closing scene made me chuckle.

"Where's Glen?"

Awesome.

[SPOILERS]

I thought Episode 2 improved on Episode 1. I can't wait to see what happens when he meets with his mrs and son, and finds that his colleague is shagging her!

Also, the bit where they are chopping up the zombie and then painting the two of them with it, is the first time I've felt genuinely sick watching something. It wasn't even THAT gory, just the combination of the sound, the characters' reaction, yuck!

Friday nights on FX. If you have sky it's on anytime and virgin media probably have it on demand on catch up tv or tv choice. It's really good so far.

Ah, I have the basic Virgin so not on that. If you all continue to rave about it, I'll find a way to watch it...

I'm pretty sure you can get the TV choice on standard virgin. You must have the option to watch things on recent TV that you didn't personally record. To be honest I hate Virgin Media because the box won't record programmes that I want it to and for some reason it keeps recording Friends. Sky has more memory to record what I want but Virgin's On Demand and TV Choice is so much better than Sky's Anytime. It gives me access to programmes that I didn't even know I wanted to watch until three weeks later.

We do have the catch up but only for a couple of channels - itv player, 4od, bbc iplater, five and channel 1. But I really do have the v basic package.
