Another good episode. The initial sense of peril that lasted all through the first two episodes lessens in this episode giving time to introduce new characters and develop existing ones while Michael rooker goes (even more) nuts and gets sunburnt on a roof. Still essential viewing.

Aye it's interesting, my dislike of Lincoln's wife is actually increased in the t.v. format, I never liked her in the graphic novel. Far too holier than thou and I almost feel sorry for the other cop, she's just not a very sympathetic and is very quick to turn on the other fellow.
Understandably she's racked by guilt and split loyalties, taking out her kaleidoscope of emotions on the other guy because Lincoln returns is fair enough, but she's a little bit mercenary. But Rooker and Norman Reedus with a crossbow! Haha, quality. I demand more of these two! "I got y'all plenty of squirrell!"

Saw the first two episodes last night. Finally something on TV worth keeping up with. Between this and Misfits, don't think I've seen so much TV drama in one week.

SPOILERAnother episode that's largely free of zombie action until towards the end. This is a good thing though as again it makes the point that the programme is about the human behaviour of the survivors. The exceptional circumstances they are in play second fiddle to the dramas among the group. That is until Michael Rooker gets his payback.

Finally caught episode four last night on Sunday catch up, it was pretty awesome if a little heavy handed on the nursing home angle.
Once again though Norman Reedus makes an excellent redneck! He's been quality in the last two episodes and has been amusing and fierce in equal parts. Great character, looking forward to Rooker coming back too! I've almost forgotten 'Boondock Saints', almost.... This was probably my favourite episode so far, very well paced with a satisfying climax, although there is the zombie staple of victims standing perfectly still, screaming and looking at their arm about to be bitten. Just pull the damn thing away! Especially liked the character of Jim was it? Digging away on the hillside, his shovel bezerker rage was satisfying at the climactic battle. Only six episodes though , roll on the thirteen episode season 2!

There's an interview with Andrew Lincoln in December's issue of the Sky magazine. Did anyone know that Lincoln is a stage name? I am so happy that his real name is Andrew Clutterbuck.

BEST NAME EVER! Haha, that's awesome, so many innuendos, so little time.

It's brilliant, isn't it? If only stage names were outlawed. Or if you had a boring name, you had to choose something mental as your stage name.

SPOILER
Definitely the best episode so far. After last weeks attack on the camp Clutterbuck feels insecure in his adopted leadership role as he had chose to take some of the team to get the guns in the city. Would less people have died if the whole team had been at the camp? There's also a weird contrast between jim the shovel guy waiting to die from the virus and the girl waiting for her sister to come back to life so she can say goodbye/sorry. The guy at CDC almost seems to have been enjoying his isolation as we hear him say "just go away" under his breath when he sees the survivors/fresh specimens on the screen. Just hope in next weeks conclusion we're not left with too many loose ends. We really need Henry Portrait of a serial killer back for more vengeance. Clutterbuck needs to throw down with his partner. What's happened to the man and boy from the first episode? I'm guessing the CDC guy is going to be the basis of a plot line in the next series. We'll see what happens next week. I can't wait. This is now officially the most excited I've been about television in years. |
