Apparantly he's cast Carey Mulligan, alongside Leo and Tobey Maguire. Fingers crossed for him not messing this up.

Seeing as the bloke seems to be totally unable to direct any film with a straight narrative Im pretty confident this will be another horrendous cock up. All he seems able to do is set up show piece after show piece hoping that somehow it will make up for a good script a coherent plot and some credible acting.
Stay well clear of this one.

Eugh.
Baz, in my opinion, is an appalling film maker. The films I've seen of his are just sequinned nightmares of pomp over substance, lots of posturing with very little end product. I realise I'm generalising a bit, but the fact his name is attached means it's a no from me. What he really needs to do is remake 'Showgirls', now THAT I would pay to see, it would be fabulous darling!

I think they're all great actors, given the right material, and Australia aside, I'm a Luhrman fan. Clooney a little too old for Gatsby surely, I've always seen him being approx mid 30s?
