Having watched this film only 2 weeks ago now i cant escape what i was put through. A picture which breaks the "forth wall"? A masterpiece in adult cinema!

Martyrs is the only film that I can think of that has had affect on me. I was still thinking about it 3 days after seeing it.

Totally agree with you. I and a few other regulars on here have sung the praises of this film before. It is certainly a very disturbing and powerful film.

There's nothing like watching a film that can only be described as "harrowing" - Martyrs is an experience I will never forget, how many films can that be said about?
Hollywood - Please please please DO NOT remake this film, it's just fine as it is, thank you very much. |

Not only are they remaking it, I've heard they are thinking of casting Kristen Stewart. Em... no thank you.

I too think this is a very good film. However, I let my friend in work borrow my DVD and she said she thought it was a load of crap and that The Hills Have Eyes 2 (the remake) was better! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. It baffles me, it really does. Where is the logic?

You don't want to see Kristen Stewart tortured and skinned? I thought Switchblade Romance was a challenging movie till I watched this. It's a great film that does what it does sooo effectively.

Or she watched it till the imaginary girl first appears then hid behind the couch.

I've seen Martyrs, Frontiers and Switchblade Romance.
All great films but Martyrs stands out by miles! Are there any similar harrowing films out there to watch, idealy world cinema? |
