There was something very cringing about the way Toby Maguire played spidey, it didn't have that disdainful air of teenage repression...This Garfield dude better be good

I loved the first two. Brilliant superhero movies. Number 3 killed Tobey and Sam's any chance of making number 4. It might have made a lot of money. But they murdered it by messing about with sandman and making venom a bitch . So i'm quietly looking forward to this reboot

You shouldn't have said that. Remember, you are indifferent to this film...

Tobey Maguire makes me want to punch kittens in much the way that Elijah Wood does - the scope of their acting is wide eyed soppiness and little much else, so I'm cautiously optimistic about Garfield.

Mate thats a bit harsh. Do you mean Maguire in that role or in general? I think he's a pretty talented guy who's shown a fair amount of range in the parts he's played.

And no talk of hurting kitten!

That dance was awful I agree. That was when I turned the film off. It was almost as bad as the whole of the last Indy film. It was so bad I cried

For Maguire, mostly that role to be fair - I haven't seen him in a great lot of other films - a slight over-reaction.

Certainly everything for Elijah Wood though...although I think it's mainly his weird freaky eyes and Jamie Oliver mouth that makes his face look like some kind of deformed octopus

I liked all Spider-Man films. Even the 3rd although I am not denying that its flawed. I am looking forward to this rebot. I am pleased of the casting of that Garfield bloke and the lovely Emma Stone.
