Interestingly (or not), I watched the film again when it came out on dvd, and fell asleep again in exactly the same place - sober this time.

I have never walked out of a movie. Once I've paid for it, I'll sit through it. That's not to say I have never been tempted. Some movies really, really test your patience. I guess I have a strong constitution. I've sat through utter tripe like Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel, Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo, Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Date Movie, Cop Out, Step Up 3D and others which make your lists of movies you've walked out of sound like cinematic heaven.

But apart from the money you've spent, there's another reason why you shouldn't walk out. It's irritating when people walk out. People who come in late (especially if they don't sit down immediately but stand around taking off their coat and whispering in the middle of the theatre), people who talk during films, people who let their mobile phones go off during movies and yes, people who walk out during a film are all highly irritating. Seriously, if you've sat through half a movie, would it really kill you to sit through the rest? Can you imagine yourself trying to watch a film while everybody else is standing up and walking around?

I wish viewers showed more concern for the people around them while at the cinema. My worst experience so far was during Buried. It started with a black screen and lots of grunting and whispering from the main character. People unbelievably just kept talking. I almost stood up and yelled 'Shut up. The film has started you morons.'

I went off a bit on a tangent there but things which distract people who want to watch a film (any film) really piss me off. Get in on time. When the film starts shut up. When it finishes you can do whatever you want. Is that really so fucking hard?

@Porkchopexpress
I thought Be Kind Rewind was a really cute film.

@Punchbowl
And Pirates of the Carribean is a fun romp although the second one was a bit too silly.

@STFUDonny
If you don't like the Saw franchise so much, why keep going for every new release? Just a thought.

When Virgin Cinema started doing monthly passes you could happily spend all day at a cinema just walking from one screen to another to soak up all the new releases, whether they were pants or not.

Well as a consequence of that I think my friend and I had seen something shit just because it was 'free' and walked out half way through and walked straight into probably our thirteenth time of watching 'Gladiator'.

It may have been the pizza, it may have been the quiet Tuesday night at Liverpool cinema, the absence of chavs or the copious amounts of alcohol in our system, but we ended up asleep before the end of the opening battle.

Relaxing.

On no occasion was it my choice to see any of the Saw movies, though I will still argue that the first film is credible. That said, being in possesion of a Cineworld pass, I don't mind taking chances on questionable movies.

ColouredPurple, you may like to check out the BBC Wittertainment 'Code of Conduct' put together by Simon Mayo & Mark Kermode on thier 5Live film review. Its a good guide on what is (or should be) acceptable and unaccepable when visiting the cinema. You can get a printable copy on the BBC 5Live website.

I walked out of Pret A Porter, I was dragged there by my wife but we both hated it. We also walked out of Spike Lee's Clockers, I don't even know why I went to see it in the first place as I can't stand Spike Lee.

Its only happened twice with me, though the first time wasn't my fault, myself and my gf at the time walked out of Jeepers Creepers, she was too frightened but I really didn't understand why.
The second was at a showing of Sunshine, that movie is so mind-numbingly boring. I gave it a second chance when I one day found it in the bargin bin while shopping, but I was correct the first time round, it was dull as it got for me. Though the DVD did make a good coaster.

Last year, my girlfriend made a huge deal about wanting to go see that new Disney documentary, "Oceans." Call me whipped if you'd like, but I gave in and took her to see it... Great idea, huh?

Needless to say, within 20 minutes, I had seen more seagulls dive in water (and listened to Pierce Brosnan discuss seagulls diving in water) than I ever needed to. Luckily, she felt the same.

So after texting a pal of mine to check the theater's other movies playing at the time, we left in time to catch Kick-Ass. Now THAT was a good idea. Definitely enjoyed it more than I would have liked Oceans. Maybe if Morgan Freeman narrated instead... Or Nic Cage while in-character as Big Daddy. "Oh ho, child."

It only happened once... I love Jack Nicholson... that's a fact. And it's also a fact that "Wolf" is his worse movie ever (in my opinion). So at the break, i ran away from the cinema as fast as i could.
