I'm inclined to agree with Ancient. Apocalypto is a great movie. If you can hold out and see it on Blu you'd be doing yourself a huge favour.
True Romance is a bona-fidey classic. I love it to bits. Ed Wood is also very good; Tim Burton back when he was on form and made really good and original quirky films. Blow is quite good and Triangle put me to sleep. I have to admit that I've never even heard of Armarchord but I checked it out on IMDB out of curiosity and its scored quite well (7.9) Quick question: Winters Bone: Blu-Ray or DVD? I saw it at the cinema, and while I believe the setting and landscape of the movie is its most prominent feature, I still can't decide if it would benefit from being in HD. If you've seen the Blu could you advise me ASAP if its worth the extra pennies. Cheers. |

Thank you for the advice people, I think Apocalypto will be the first that I will be putting on. I don't have Blu Ray and to be honest, I am not prepared to invest in that at the moment as I don't watch nearly enough DVDS. I tend to see more off my film viewing at the cinema or I will just wait until it comes on TV.
Hope all is well. Dan. |

Hey Dan, Apocalypto is a good choice. Thoroughly entertaining 'chase' movie with great action sequences. Highly recommended.
As mentioned True Romance is superb and definitely worth checking out. Blow is a solid film with a hedonistic vibe and decent performances all round. I enjoyed The Time Traveller's Wife a lot, but then I like both the leads. Knowing's a strange beast. By no means great or terrible (though the ending's probably a stretch too far) it has it's moments and I did quite enjoy it. So shoot me ![]() |

![]() Now's probably not a good time to mention this, having just been shot and at the mercy of those who would seek to finish me. However, we watched Garden State the other night and I have to say I actually enjoyed it - much to my surprise given the mostly negative feedback. Portman's suitably quirky, hinting at the heights she'll later reach in Black Swan, and Sarsgaard and Braff give decent turns. I felt for Braff's character and was pleased he hooked up with Portman. To go through life on prescription drugs from the age of 9 and not be able to feel anything is tragic. The message of the film is that we all need to feel something, whether it be love, pain, joy or sadness. To be emotionless and numb is no life and Portman helps break him out of that cycle. Oh, and the soundtrack's very good. Anyway, I agree with Liz and Donny... shoot them too if you must. ![]() |

You almost made that rhyme.
Youll get there given time.
