Default Keira Knightley

The Evolution Of Keira Knightley feature on totalfilm.com takes a jaunt through the pouty one's back catalogue - from her 1993 debut in a BBC drama to this week's big new release, London Boulevard. Click on this link to check it out...

[Personally - I find her really rather annoying. What about you guys?]

Never been much of a fan either. She's so gangly and like you say 'pouty' with a plum in her mouth. Having said that, I really rate her performance in The Jacket where she just cuts loose and channels raw emotion effortlessly. Her chemistry with Adrien Brody is clear and together they deliver a heartfelt tale of loss and redemption beautifully. Based on that performance alone I'll go easy on her... plus I've yet to see Atonement.

You should watch Atonement, Roba. It's a good film, and she's not gangly in it. I used to be a detractor of Knightley back in her early Pirate of the Caribbean days.. but I think she has since proved that she can act and carry a film - she holds her own against Ralph Fiennes in The Duchess. Also see The Edge of Love. I'm not bothered by the pout, it's natural. A more annoying thing is about Keira is that when she raises her voice it can be grating on the ear. In acting terms I think she's shown steady progress.
To sum up, not the best young actress out there but not the worst either. I would rather see her new films (the ones coming up soon) than, say, Gemma Arterton.

I'm a Keira fan, both on an aesthetic level and talent wise! I even own 'Domino', although thanks to Tony Scott's approach to film making I can't make it to the end without having a seizure.

'The Duchess' is one of her highlights and certainly in the first 'Pirates' she more than holds her own amongst the scene stealing likes of Depp and Rush.

I actually quite like 'Love Actually' and it's a staple of my Christmas viewing and her segment with Lincoln is quite affecting. Yes I'm a big softie, sue me.

They are indeed. Do you own 'Love Actually'? or Bend It like Beckham? If so, you have it baaad.

My op of Keira, I don't mind her. She's beautiful and there aren't many these days who have that Golden age of Hollywood glamour. She's one of the few. Sienna Miller wishes she had it but she doesn't.

I'll admit that I think she is good in a couple of films but any time I see her I'm reminded of the guy who pilots the millennium falcon with lando in return of the Jedi. I am very shallow though.

She's a good actress and I'm eagerly anticipating her next film Never let me go, but yeah I find her rather annoying.

Especially in Love Actually. I think I might have mentioned a few time that I HATE THAT FILM.

Totes. It's christmas pudding saccharine with a huge dose of cheeze festooned with cliches, aimed at the American market. Its only redeeming factor is Bill Nighy.

Has Bill Nighy been in a Harry Potter film? I have a weird feeling that he should have been but I can't remember if he has. Love Actually is another film that makes me angry.
