Adapting just about any pre-existing Batman comic is a bad idea. Even more standalone stuff like The Killing Joke utilises the vast extended universe that is established in the comic timeline. For quite some time I was enamoured with the prospect of a tv series based on Gotham Central, but soon came to my senses upon realising that the reason why Gotham Central worked was because much of the Batman and Gotham mythos was pre-established, so it had the time to focus on the members of the department more.

Default Why not?

I personally don't have any issues with reboots as far as superhero movies go, and the Batman films are just proof that reboots can be just as good as the originals! I'm sure that when Tim Burton's first Batman film came out, fans of the Adam West tv series and movie were been skeptic and I'm sure that when Christopher Nolan brought out Batman Begins, fans of the Tim Burton films would've been skeptic! Just because people are huge fans of the Nolan films, doesn't mean they wouldn't enjoy a rebooted version if one ever came out!
I was actually quite dissapointed when i found out that The Riddler (who is my favourite Batman villian and whose only big screen debut was in Batman Forever) wouldn't be in the new one and instead it's Catwoman! I'm sure it's going to be fantastic whatever they do with the film but i'd heard it was going to be The Riddler, got all excited to then find out it was Catwoman instead!

I love Batman so they can reboot as much as they like.

I'd settle for a Batman with a normal voice as opposed to one that sounds like a constipated cretin.

I would of gone for Neaderthal.

I dont mind if it gets rebooted, lol, not that the studios take my opinion into account (they f*cking should)

As long as the story is good, and with the right people attached there is no reason not to. I doubt however that the level of talent involved will surpass Nolan and Co.
No doubt we will end up having it Directed by Uwe Boll starring Jason Statham*

One of my best mates used to do high diving with the Stath, he said that he's a really nice bloke.

The interviews I have seen of him suggest as such. I think he's great, one of the few unashamed action stars of the day, if not the only one.

Exclamation Why not semi-reboot?!

Why don't they instead of rebooting all together -

why dont they just move the story forward by a decade or two - leave the story in the exact same movie gotham universe as the dark knight trilogy - but recast an older bruce/batman.
This last trilogy was the genisis of the character why not move forward without ignoring this back story?
