It's crap. The first half is all exposition and hyperactive jumps from one intense ( but forgettable) conversation to another. I don't recall any scene lasting longer than a minute or so. The second half is all explodey and robotty which after the first film I should have loved but (like the second film) the action seemed pointless.
Shia Laboeuf is more annoying than he was in Indiana Jones and John Malcovich is inexplicably relegated to playing a bad charicature of himself. The parents are humourless comic relief yet again and assets like Frances McDormand and Leonard Nimmoy are wasted and lost in the sheer confusion and chaos. Rosie Huntington is clearly only there to look pretty but she's not half as pretty as Megan Fox.
Michael Bay didn't quite plumb the depths of depravity he did with the second Transformers movie but he was clearly trying his hardest. Transformers 4 with Jason Statham anyone? 0/5
