Your 'LOL' didn't challenge anything he had said or inject any humour into the thread. It was condescending and pointless. A few seconds taken to make your point with real words would have been a bit more acceptable and maybe replied to with real debate.

In some ways an okay enough point about my lol comment but in other ways quite frustrating & interesting. I have seen plenty of regular posters crack just as pointless responses at some newbies quite thoughtful reviews/film comments that have turned what could have been an interesting discussion sometimes into drivel really to be quite honest and its been lets just say not really a problem. So I am afraid I am going to have to say that since it seems to be more of an issue when I happen to have a bash at it (not something I do regularly actually, I was just bored and had had quite a few beers at the time) that I believe its a case of the loyal's sticking to the loyal's. I would rather not give any examples of specific posts or then its going to be heated galore (which I really do not want, believe it or not). I honestly though am not meaning to be horrible or carry this on any longer, I just will not accept things I don't fully agree with.

Quite frankly though, I am getting really bored with this now. And I was happy to leave it with Projectionsist's comment but Biscuits left me with an issue to point out that kind of annoys me with forums in general.

I don't want to be even more guilty of taking this thread off topic. So I will say in relation to the original topic, I am quite intrigued by the idea/plot of Rise Of Planet Of The Apes and it looks like there is a good amount of emotion in their too which is a bonus. Not sure, I'll pay to see it on the big screen though. May end up seeing it with some friends though.

A very enjoyable film with some genuinely jaw dropping and exciting moments. Some bits were perhaps a little OTT, but I reckon this will end up being the action film of the year.

Just got back from seeing it, and I agree Zippy a very enjoyable film and I think that the CGI Ceaser out acted James Franco.

It's great fun. There's never a dull moment and once again James Franco manages to not be too annoying. The ape effects are outstanding and the final half hour proves that this is one of those films that really deserves to be seen on the big screen. I have to agree with Guyver's original post. It's in the running for the best film this year. Don't get me wrong, it's an event movie through and through but it's creative and dramatic enough to stand head and shoulders above any of the others so far. Kubrick could do a lot worse. Caesar is home. 4/5

watch it last night and i agree that this has been the best film of the season so far, harry potter was just confusing, cowboys and aliens sort of never got started (even though they had ready made aliens directly from MIB in the staring role of aliens), green lantern was like a 5 minute comedy sketch that went on for way way too long, etc

the ones that missed the list for being over hyped were tf3 and xmen first class, which were worthy of the ticket price, but having seen untold films and only remembering 3 from this year (i checked) as being worthy of paying through the nose for (£17 plus food and parking for tf3 at west field was eye-wateringly expensive) simply means that i'll wait for sky to show them for free in a years time

but apes was well worth the entry price as it all makes sense, as a film AND as a prequel

4.5/5 for me (or to make it easier for you 9/10 )

I saw this film a few weeks ago and I loved it. I was prepared to be disappointed by it but now I'm expecting it to do really well at all the awards.

Other than the nods to the original, it was easy to forget you were watching a reboot.

I especially liked how story driven it was as opposed to the usual "we've made a super drug that will make you super smart" there was a reason for everything that happened and to top it all off, the CGI was fantastic. Andy Serkis out did himself in this one.
