Watched this last night at work.
Where do I start???? I'll start with my feeling about this film. Loved it simple as that. After a really poor summer of so called blockbusters this has got film of the year written all over it.
The story is really really well done. Its slightly different to the first planet of the apes and they are treating this as a reboot which is clear from the start. But you know what I didn't care that is was a reboot. I love the planet of the apes films. And this is a brilliant entry in the series.
Now the cgi. Its not flawless at the start but as the film gets going and the more apes, monkeys and gorillas that turn up on screen the better they get. Some of the animation is nothing short of breath taking. The apes are the stars of the show and its hard to think that there are no real apes in this.
There are a few nods to the first movie. First mission to mars then it goes missing . The dam dirty ape lines even turns up. I feared for this film and there was a lot of fear due to my love of the first ones. The fear left me and the first 5 Min's.
Dentists in MexicoTJ DentistTJ Dentist Excellent film and the icing on the cake James Franco didn't annoy me. :-)
Wonder what the odds for this winning special effects Oscar next year???
Please go see this when it opens next week.
