Default Asgard Rain

The Avengers will urinate on Dark Knight from a very great, Asagardian, height.Well rounded, interesting characters as against a growling cowl and non dimensional alter ego? No contest.Verily, I say thee Warners/DC, dreameth on!!!!!!

The Avengers will be poor, Whedons a talentless T.V hack. TDKR will be good, if not great at the cinema. I still like TDK, however as has been said, the last time I watched it I got bored. In fact, any time The Joker isn't on screen it struggles to maintain momentum.

In terms of box office, I think it will. But I really hope they match in terms of quality.

As much as I loved the last Batman movies, I'm kind of 'meh' about TDK. They haven't roped me in yet. On the other hand, I'm completly geeking out every time something new Avengers-related is revealed . So either this one is going to be great or I'll be in for a big disappointment.

I am definitely going to watch both though.

I doubt it. Nolan tries to ground Batman in reality, which almost as a natural by product makes the whole thing feel better. I'm gonna see the Avengers, but I cant help thinking that when I leave the cinema I will already be thinking about what to have for tea, or if I need a wee now or wait until I get home. At the very least Nolan will attempt to convey some sort of message, even if it is trite and hammered home until even the very dense will pick up on it. I'm sure the Avengers will be plenty of fun, and equeally disposable.

Only my opinion, I wouldnt mind being wrong though.

@Guyv, glad I'm not the only one.

Default Is it a fair fight?

I think saying these films are versing each other is a little worrying -

what i mean is the last few years weve had comic book movie after comic book movie versing themselves -

I found it far more interesting that Xmen: First Class came out on top last yr vs the Marvel Studio Films?

What we should be looking at is - Avengers vs Hulk 2, iron Man 1 & 2, Thor, Capt America - will it live upto the hype of any of these films?

And as for Dark knight Rises can this film ever live upto the dark Knight? this is the real question of this years comic book movies - they have both got enough to do with out us the fans pitting them against each other!

support the franchises until we get in the cinema and then if they fail let the bitch slapping begin?

This film lacked substance and as such will always be the film that was a prelude until TDKR comes along and wipes the floor with it
It's like a Michael Bay film but, y'know, beautifully written, well directed, has heart and humour and doesn't offend you with a black hearted, sexist, racist tone. Basically, there's a bit at the end which is reminiscent of Transformers 3. That is the only thing it has in common with a 'Michael Bay' film.

Also, and it might just be me, but that latest Dark Knight Rises trailer looks awfully lifeless and dull after this.

I am in the Nolan's Batman's are vastly over-rated camp, so that's probably fair enough.
