Default HMV tanks

Slightly abstract, but at long last the evil empire of overpriced multimedia is finally in it's long overdue death spasm!

Die HMV! Die, die and die again!

Yes, I noticed their execs blame the 'snow' for poor xmas sales this year. The fact that they tend to charge 30-50% over the average Amazon/Play online price having nothing to do with it, of course.

Yeah, it's a shame for the moody teenagers who work there, but at least they can attend the protests planned about tuition fees later on this year.

Why buy your Nada Surf back catalogue at £16.00 in HMV, when you can get it on Play/Amazon for £1.50 including P&P.

To be honest the supermarkets are equally to blame sometimes, convenience shopping for the masses, especially as ASDA/Tesco are invariably £2-3 cheaper than HMV.

Although in their defence you can pick up classic books for a slittle as £2, Waterstones overspill no doubt. Bizarre that HMV is only good for cheap books, when it's co-managed by the 'Waterstones' folks.

What a world!

I went into Morrisons a couple of weeks ago for milk and bog roll and left with two XBox 360 games (for less than £15 and fairly recent titles~)

I was in one recently and noticed they have the LOTR Blu-ray box set for £60. Price on amazon 16.90, play.com 17.99. Says it all really.

Knowing HMV, Guyver they'll find some way to screw the customer right to the last. Instead of having a closing down sale, they'll maybe do a bulk buy-back deal with amazon, or stinking LoveFilm. The customer always comes last with hmv.

you're a terrible shopper Jeff. When I was a young un, if I came back with an unasked for bag of sweets or a pack of crisps I might get a cuff round the ear. You come back with games! tch.

You think you're so clever, but you'll be laughing on the other side of your face when you try and wipe your arse with 'Fallout New Vegas'!

That's right, I went there!

What do you mean, 'when I was a young un'? You do the same thing now, morris.

True. The only difference being instead of mum asking "where's my change?" it's Mrs Cat.
