What a joy of a film. Proof that sound is hardly necessary when creating something cinematic - Bejo makes for an excellent Peppy (who certainly lives up to her character name!), whilst Jack the dog made me have a new-found respect for Jack Russel terriers. I now challenge the rest of 2012 film to touch me the way it has - a truly feel-good film.

hahaha, I saw that eons (literally!) ago, awfully brillianty pants.

Super 8.

Meh. There is plenty to like about this film. The kids are fair actors, Abrahms has nailed the feeling of nostalgia, its great and kinda made me feel like I was watching THe Goonies for the first time. However, there are too many problems with the film as a whole, mainly that it takes itself too seriously, the violence isn't in keeping with the nostalgia of the piece. Also the one note monster design, while I was watching it I kept thinking, that looks like the shit monster in Cloverfield, after a check on imdb it was the same guy, why was this man employed again? Anyhoo, over all the film is enjoyable, but not a speck on Spielbergs 80's heyday of Directing and Producing, Im still yet to see what the fuss on J.J is all about.

being unemployed is the worst thing that can happen to someone, but everything has a good side. The good side of mine unemployment is that i finally have all the time in the world to watch as many movies as i want!!!! And i watched a lot! "The artist" is great. More than great. Brilliant! "The descendants" was bitter-sweet, "Kill list" was really good, allthough the end reminded me of another movie (won't say it 'cause it would be a spoiler), "Rampart" was pretty good. I really liked "A dangerous method", but i was expecting it to be better, allthough it is good... What else??? Ah! "Snowtown" was really -really "raw" and stroke you right between the eyes! And i really enjoyed "Perfect sense" and "a seperation". I'm sure i've watched more films but really, i can't remember them all now... :-D

Ball-achingly cool. Soundtrack, acting, direction, hefty violence, all hit the soft spot for me. Only thing I thought every now and then was that some shots smacked of "I'm soooooooo talented" Which is not worth moaning about because he obviously is.

Tron: Legacy (yeah I know, late to the party).

Tear-jerkingly bad. Garrett Hedlund is very wooden, CGI Jeff Bridges is very Uncanny Valley, pace way too slow, dialogue terrible, action unmemorable. On the other hand, Olivia Wilde was OK, it looks pretty and I now want to own a light cycle/ disc.

Just watched Love & Other Drugs, not too bad really, a little something different from the usual run of heartless and pointless romantic flicks. Also watched 13 Assassins, Miike flick, very good and the battle scenes are just amazing.

Drag Me To Hell.

Ok. Meh. Alright. Average. I got the feeling that Raimi wasnt sure if he wanted to make it a horror comedy or just a horror. And the film feels as such, most of the time its funny in its sillyness, at other times it feel like hes trying to be serious and it just falls flat. The cast are insta-forget as is the score, if there was one I cant remember. Muddled, but quite good fun. 2.5/5
