Default Best of Blu-ray

I've just bought my first HD tv and Blu-ray player. Now I need to know the best movies to buy on Blu-ray.

So far I've trawled the t'interweb and found a few suggestions and I've bought

Star Trek (2009)
Iron Man
The Dark Knight
Sin City

What other gems do I need to add to my collection?

Cheers.

Straight away i would get Terminator 2: Skynet Edition it looks fabulous and has three verions of the film, plenty of PiP features, bundles of extras as well as a THX Optimizer (very f*cking handy). Children of Men is anouther that looks wonderful on BD, the grain of a dead London looks fantastic, and the final 20 mins are made even better by the amazing sound and picture. For show off its gotta be Transformers looks ace and is always good to throw on with a few mates and some beers.

The BluRay version of Zulu is quite extraordinary.

Wall.E (or any Pixar really)

Black Hawk down.

All good.

If we're talking quality of transfers as well as a decent film, I've heard the first Hellboy is very good. When I watched it, the colours seem to pop without being artificial looking and the detail was stunning. Rich blacks and contrasts too.

I'd second Wall-E as a good demo showoff-to-friends disc. First half of the film particularly.

The fire-extinguisher dance is a gob-smacking BluRay demo.

Favorites of mine are Iron Man, Transformers 1 and 2, monsters Inc and Wall E, all outstanding picture quality. Just been testing out my Watchmen Directors cut which also has a very good picture.

I've found that the picture difference between discs can be massive, there should probably be some form of quality control. The best one's I've seen to date are:

Watchmen
Kill Bill 2
Speed Racer
Dark Knight
Hurt Locker
2001: A Space Odyssey

On the flipside, I've only been disappointed by a couple of soundtracks. The sound difference between compressed DVD and uncompressed BD trakcs is fantastic.

As I'm going to be getting myself a PS3 very soon, I want some recommendations for the best Blu-Rays when compared to DVD.

Blade Runner: Final Cut and Sin City are on my list already. Possibly Underworld, Underworld: Evolution and Terminator 2. What else is really worth the money for replacing DVD?
