I'd like to add another vote for the Cineworld in Glasgow. I like the atmosphere in there and enjoy going up/down the escalators before/after the film and looking out at the city below.

Last time I was at Glasgow Cineworld I got stuck in the lift.

It wasn't one of my proudest moments. We spent nearly five minutes banging the doors and when nobody saved us we pulled the doors open with fingertips.

It didn't go in between the floors did it? Lifts make me nervous. I'd get panicky if one stopped.

Not between floors but it stopped about a foot higher than floor level so we had to jump out. I hate lifts.

The Everyman Cinema in Hampstead, London for three reasons:
1. Sofas 2. Wine, beer and gourmet snacks (delivered to your sofa) 3. Decent size screen and good, loud sound ![]() ![]() |

In London I used to love the Prince Charles and the BFI the most - I couldn't really pick between the two. But I also used to love the Ritzy in Brixton, the Clapham Picturehouse and the Electric Cinema.
Here in New York/New Jersey I'm particularly taken with the Loew's in Jersey City, which is an old movie palace that shows classic films to fund a restoration project: http://loewsjersey.org/history/histo...ce-upon-a-time The Film Forum and the IFC are also great. However, I do find myself yearning for the BFI.

I'm partial to The Cornerhouse in Manchester and love traditional style cinemas too. My favourite chain is Cineworld in Didsbury.
