Well, if need be I will see it a second time in 2D. If it's as good as it looks that won't be a hardship. But for once I want the movie experience to be as big as possible. (I think I know what you mean, because Inception looked a little odd at times in IMAX.)

Great though this looks, it's written by Damon Lindelof, the floating member of the Kurtzman and Orci writing team. I have faith in Ridley Scott (I even liked Robin Hood) but i'm a bit wary that the script might not be much more than fanboy drivel.

It's definitely (at least partially) targeted at fanboys. Finding out the space jockey's back story is a bit of a fanboy wet dream.

At the same time though, it also destroys the mythology around it. Much like explaining the 'force' in Phantom Menace.
If they cock it up, they've spoiled 'Alien'.

I don't think there's any way they could explain the space jockey that would be quite as disastrous as the friendly bacteria in Phantom Menace. At least I hope not. It kind of looks like it's going to pose more questions than it's going to answer.

Anyone know if Prometheus going to be shown in 2D as well as 3D by the major chains? Not cool, if its 3d only....
