Default The Amazing Spiderman

I must admit that when I originally found out that this film wasn't following on from the previous but was going to start all over again I was apprehensive in wanting to go and see it. Then I saw the trailer and thought I might as well give it a go.

Glad that I did, I really enjoyed it, its got its flaws but its a damn sight better than the last installment of the originals. Andrew Garfield for me was a perfect Peter Parker, way better than Tobey Maguire. His whole persona was what I imagined Petey to be like when I used to read the comics as a kid. He had that likeability factor right from the start, he can act and made me get a little choked up a couple of times.

The special effects were very good but although I saw this in 3D it didn't really add much to it except for a few little bits towards the end.

I much preferred Emma Stone as the love interest as opposed to Kirsten Dunst. Not only is she much better on the eye but she is a better actress.

Good to see the usual Stan Lee cameo, which was pretty funny.

I enjoyed it as well. The only bit i really didn't like was the crane bit. I just sat there and thought. Oh for fuck sake. Apart from that small part overall it was good spider-man movie

Yeah when the stars and stripes made an appearance, i believe the words "oh fuck off" were uttered.

also enjoyed it, whether there was any need ($$$$$$$$$$$$ aside) for making more spiderman films I'm not sure, but a fun enough way to pass a few hours.

What a complete load of shite this film was. Andrew Garfield just needed to be punched (what the fuck were those pathetic one liners he kept uttering whilst he was being beaten to a pulp?); the CGI was dreadful, and once again I felt as if I was watching a computer game; the music was so over powering, I felt like burning all the instruments belonging to the orchestra; and the typical American pathos? why, oh why, does Hollywood feel it's necessary to put all that syrupy stuff into every blockbuster they make? I just hated it. It represented everything that is wrong with modern day American cinema.

Oh, and Denis Leary's botox was a complete embarrassment. Mrs Jones wondered how in the hell he could emote at all, his face was so static.

I popped round for a curry and watched it with Jonesy. I thought it was weak, as comic book movies go, and boring. I've never had a problem with Garfield before but found him irritating as Peter Parker. His snappy dialogue while fighting bad guys was like a watered down version of Kick-Ass. Emma Stone was okay, probably the best thing about it. Lizardman or whatever he was supposed to be made a mediocre villian. I'm really glad I didn't bother seeing this at the cinema as I briefly considered doing when it came out.

The story is the weakest part of the film, but the acting and action is far superior than the first three films.
