Personally I think his column is a waste of a page. There's nothing funny or insightful in it.

I enjoy him on the telly when he's doing RudeTube.
At least he's not Ferne Cotton, I absolutly refuse to participate in ANYTHING she is invovled in, being it Radio 1 or the charity thing with Wogan,. |

I might be in the minority here but I don't mind his column. Would people still feel this way if he used a pseudonym?

I personally, dislike Alex Zane's page greatly. Every month when I reach this part of the magazine I expect the worst and I am always right. His page is a waste of space. At least Richard Ayoade has interesting observations as someone from within the film industry. Alex Zane doesn't belong in Total Film with his alternative humour. Just because he works at big film premieres, doesn't qualify him for this role. Please replace him ASAP, or at least use his fee to pay for an advert in his place. Thanks.

I've always liked the idea of having a "mystery guest" writing a page.
That way you don't know who's written the article and you don't know if they will be back or not ![]() For all you know, I could write an article about something and then, due to the power of being an "unknown" I could then slag off/big up my own work ![]() |

I hope Zane is just a mystery guest then. Maybe he'll be gone next month. Maybe they're using him to make the rest of the magazine look better?

I see he's still on the pages of Total Film. To me 'Zane' is a smaller issue to a larger problem.
The fact he is on Total Film's pages immediately cheapens the magazine. His presence is indicative of everything that is WRONG with the magazine at the moment. Everything just feels 'cheap'. I see Total Film (the internet side) have taken his column off of the website (if you read the comments it's JUST people moaning, with good reason, about him) I just hope the magazine soon follows suit. (I can only assume that some idiot at Total Film locked him into a 12 month contract) |

August was the last time he was mentioned on this site...
