I was waiting for Kiba or Jonesy to move this post before I posted a reply. It's actually a good thread start and one I think a few of the regulars on here will have a few words about. The use of CGI or practical effects is also subject to the requirements of the film. As a horror fan, I prefer to see a practical effect. CGI blood rarely captures the effect like fake blood does. I think all fluid is still difficult to be effectively rendered with computer graphics. I know that if the required software already exists, then CGI can be a lot cheaper to use than effects. Modern computer games like Heavy Rain are closing the realism gap though and computers are proving more capable of creating a believable reality.

You've already asked this twice before under the guise of AHarkness2512 back in November and, as previously pointed out, Armageddon and Deep Impact got there first.

..And was told off for double-posting then. Well spotted, Roba. Pesky post with repetitious question removed.

Hey guys. Could really do with a few responses to this.
I'm about halfway through my project. All students are required to do some research and I've decided to include a questionnaire as part of mine. My project is about distribution methods for music artists without any help from a record label. Hopefully I'll get a few responses. It'll take 5 mins max (if that) to fill it in: Survey Thanks. edit: just incase the link didn't work : http://www.kwiksurveys.com/online-su...JOKLK_89ac08b4 |

Hi All
I am currently working on and gathering primary research for an assigned course project, which is based around: Governments abolition of the UK Film council The new role the BFI will have in the wake of this and how it will affect their support and services to the industry along with the likely less resources being available to independent film makers In general the government’s approach to the UK film policy and subsidy of the UK Film Industry in the immediate future (e.g. seemingly more service based for foreign film makers and less focused on indigenous film making and independent cinema). If anyone would be willing to share their thoughts / opinions / experiences relating to this, i would be very grateful. Much Appreciated All the best Craig |

Hey all,
I'm writing a university assignment on Cult media and I need as many opinions as possible. Who thinks that The Crow (1994) is a cult film and why? It's a simple question that I hope will spark very opinionated responses. |
