If you think this is a bad film you really need to go and watch Last Crusade again minus the rose tinted glasses. It's easily one of Spielberg's laziest films with some mediocre effects. Connery took over the show and all the supporting cast (including Indy) were reduced to comedy sidekicks.

Sure 'Crystal Skull' has some problems, but it also has some fabulous moments - The opening, the 50's diner and bike chase, the truck chase and swordfight (imagine you were 12 and that could have fitted into any Indy film).

The sheer craftsmanship of Spielberg (which rises above the mediocre script) alone, sets it apart from most of the barely comprehensible ADD drek that passes for blockbuster cinema these days.

I'll watch 'Crystal skull' a hundred times over before I watch Abrams Star Trek again.

It's all relative.

I'll watch my socks migrate to Australia before I sit through Crystal Skull again.

I maybe could have forgiven the whole film if not for that shitty ending.

I didn't like the original 3 films anyway, but #4 was excruciating. So glad I was doing my GCSEs the year it came out, hence declining to see it with my family...And then catching it on television about six months ago.

I think that perhaps here SPIELBERG was trying to imitate his friend GEORGE LUCAS by rejuvenating a classic trilogy with a new instalment decades later.

Unfortunately, while the film was (for me) not as bad as I had perhaps feared, it is certainly THE PHANTOM MENACE of the INDIANA JONES franchise.

Still, I quite like CATE BLANCHETT anyway and it was good to see KAREN ALLEN reprise her Marion role once again.

Now that HARRISON is in his late sixties, however, I do not think he should even attempt trying to play the character again in future as he would look too jaded.

Perhaps, if other films are in the pipeline, SPIELBERG could do a STAR TREK and let us see some adventures of a much younger Indy?

If they're going do that, they should shake up the whole thing with a new director, too.
Spielberg is still great at what he does, but a new start should be just that.

Punchbowl beat me to the punch... it's best just to ignore this film's existence.

Sounds like my boyfriend's view of it. Quite frankly, although I was never a Jones fan to begin with, I agree xD
