This looks like a screengrab from the film, rather than a proper photo still or poster shot... What do you think, Ancient?

It was definitely available as a poster years ago. When I bought The Crow on VHS, HMV were offering either that poster or the one with Brandon Lee against the fiery background free with purchase. I got the fiery one. I had a look at a few poster/merchandise websites and I can't see it anywhere but it's been up for bid on ebay a few times. You could keep checking there.

Yeah it was a poster. I believe both were submitted designs for the UK release. There used to be a selection of posters from around the world as well as a few unused ones on The Crows Loft fan page. In fact you may want to chek there for info on purchasing it. The site is still active but hardly ever updated so be prepared for some info on it to be out of date.

Anyone know the latest on the supposed Back to the Future remake?

Is this something we are going to truly have to suffer or are the rumours false?

Heard nowt about it, I hope to christ they dont bother. The films may be fairly flawed, well the sequels, but they also have that all too rare "feeling" a built in nostalgia thats hard to aquire in films. And very few have it. I doubt any sequels would have that feeling.

Default Trailer Trash

A few years ago when Rodriguez and Tarantino release "Grind House" there were these fake trailers in the middle, very funny. One was for a fake horror movie called "Thanksgiving" and it was directed by Eli Roth.

I heard Roth was going to make a full length movie of trailers called "Trailer Trash". It sounded fun! Anyone heard anything about this?

Default Plot Question about Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides. BIG SPOILER INSIDE

I'm not the biggest fan of Pirates of the Carribean 4 but it's a decent two hour diversion or so.

It did leave me with one burning question about the ritual though.

According to the ritual, if person A drinks from the chalice with the mermaid's tear, s/he should get the remaining living yeas of person B who drank from the chalice without the tear. At least that's how I understood it.

When Blackbeard drank from the chalice without the tear he had literally minutes to live which means that his daughter only gained a few more minutes to her life. Hardly worth all the effort!

Did I misunderstand the ritual or is this a gaping plot hole?

Thanks.

The best part of the film was the bit with the mermaids in my opinion. I particularly liked the song My Jolly Sailor Bold.

Edit note: I just realised there were better places in the forum where to post this because this is not really a review. Not sure whether it's possible to have it moved to a more appropriate place so until I get told off, it's staying here. Sorry. I'll go and sit in the corner now.

Default Gift-giving in movies...

Apologies for the plain weird title.

I'm looking to write a post that features scenes of gift-giving in movies (in time for Christmas) but obviously the more bizarre, shocking, humorous scenes are what I'm looking for. Wrapped gifts that turn out to be bombs, severed heads, dimensional portals...whatever! It can even be a little tenuous, the wooden horse in Troy for example.

I know this is slightly odd, but I need some collective movie-trained brains to help me out, and I hope you can.

Many thanks,

Ry
