Hmm, I see the character as being quite attractive, due to the fair amount of shagging he gets up to.

Default The Help

Just read The Help by Kathryn Stockett in one weekend. Couldn't put it down last night and ended up finishing it at 3am this morning. And then lo and behold, I google it and discover they're making a film of it with Emma Stone (love), Bryce Dallas Howard and Allison Janney (love, love).

We have to start a bookgroup Liz! Loved the help, really looking forward to the film. Checking out the pics on imdb Emma Stone and Allison Janney really fit with the characters I had in my head.

I've just rejoined the library (gotta get the most out of paying council tax) and discovered that they no longer charge for requesting books. Been looking through the online catalogue and making lists of everything I want. Also a pretty decent selelction of dvds, including tv box sets for cheap hire. Yay!

What I've read of the Dark Tower series has been really good but it's quite a slog you'll need a serious amount of free time to get through it all (so far I only got as far as Wizard and Glass and had to take a break- that was a year ago). If it's Stephen King you're looking to read, he has so many stand alone books which are far better than The Dark Tower. The Stand and Pet Sematary are two of my favourite books and I finally got started on Under the Dome last night. His short story books are also really good if you're looking for something more bite sized. But I'd still recommend Clive Barker over Stephen King any day. Hope I was of help.

Hey Zip,

I can´t remember if I´ve asked you this already... Have you read the Jamie Fraser books by Diana Gabaldon. The first one is Cross Stitch. Shit title. Fantastic book. I´m reading the third one at the moment. Loving it. (And they´re set in Scotland!!!)

They are indeed! In the spirit of our virtual reality book club, I highly recommend it!!! My friend gave me Cross Stitch and I really wasn't sure I would like it but it's amazing. Have I asked you whether you've read Room as well? Room, One Day and The Help are my fave books from the last year or so... Any recommendations for me?

Just picked up The Crow-The Story Behind The Film for £2.50 and Delete This At Your Peril ( bloody hilarious replies to spam emails) for £1. I needed something more easily digestible to break up Under The Dome because I'm struggling with it a bit.
