Hes big, ginger and fluffy - sound familiar? Seems like quite a nice chap/cat.

I just looked up his book. Nice looking chap, bit of a youngster though. He's fluffy alright but lacks my worldliness and sophistication.

as you can see.

Yeah no cool glasses for him. I finished the book last night, bit american and schmaltzy, and as you can probably guess there are some sad times at the end.

Next up to balance this out - Night, which is about the holocaust.

well no. Actually I'm reading some piece of trash by F. Paul Wilson who wrote The Keep. This one is called The Touch. Took a while to get into but I'm starting to enjoy it. tres pulpy but grate for a frazzled cat brain just before sleeps.

I'll give it a whirl after I finish 'The Touch'.
I would say "enjoy", but its not really that kind of book. It's pretty grim, but thankfully quite brief.

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini.

Wonderful book. Ive not seen the movie and Im not sure now that I want to. Its a book that lives in your mind, one that makes you a part of another world. I read it almost nonstop and I can truly say that in some parts it really moved me. If you have any love of books then this is one that I urge you to read. Afghanistan and its current troubles are seen in a different light after reading this.
Sorry I can't review this book rationally yet, its had a profound effect. 5/5

I really enjoyed it too. I have the DVD sitting waiting to be watched, but like you not sure whether it will live up to it. If you haven't already check out A Thousand Splendid Suns from the same author. I think I might even prefer it to the Kite Runner.

Reading book one of the engineer trilogy 'Devices and Desires' by KJ Parker. As a 'browsing' purchase, I must say that it's a very engaging and engrossing book.

Just read 'There are Doors' by Gene Wolfe who must be one of the best fantasy/sci fi writer currently working today. I've yet to find one of his books that doesn't impress me.

I've got that in the pile next to my bed and hoping to read soon. I see they've cast Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess for the film - good picks?
