Default Gaspar Noé's "Enter The Void"...

I searched the forum for "Enter The Void" and I didn't get any results so I'm making this thread: please re-direct me if I'm wrong as I am new to these forums and could most likely be wrong.

Gaspar Noé - the director of the infamous Irreversible - has had his film "Enter The Void" circling the film festivals of last year's summer. I heard about it with an article Total Film had written dedicated to the new release being played at the Cannes film festival.

Well, it's been a while since then and I was wondering if any other people using these boards were a bit agitated by the fact that the film has yet to be released on DVD? (I heard it's something to do with no distributors really interested in buying the film, just for those wondering...)

A poster on another forum I frequent went to see this at the London Film Festival last year and raved about it, so yeah, I'm pretty excited by it. I too am a little frustrated at its supposed disappearance from release schedules, as apparently this is a film truly destined to be seen on the big screen.

Hopefully it will at leats get a limited release, I find it a shame when things are released straight-to-DVD, seems to show a lack of faith in the product.

I'm on a bit of a budget at the moment so a straight-to-DVD release - although as disappointing as it is - won't actually affect me. As long as it manages to work its way onto DVD then I'm happy.

At least I'm not hunched over a laptop watching it on Youtube - completely ruins the experience!

I too was really eager to see this. I can't wait to view it. Anyone had the opportunity yet?

Apparently it's getting a limited run in the States around October time, perhaps it may see a similar release here around that time or a few months after?

Anybody else disappointed that the distributors have decided to cut 18 minutes out for its cinema release? According to the bbfc website Trinity are releasing it in a 142 minute cut. I don't know the reason why. Both the 160 min cut and this shorter version were passed at "18" What version did Total Film review?

Hi there,

I've emailed Andy Lowe, who wrote the review. I'll post here as soon as I hear back from him - it might be a few days as I think he's on holiday...

Eek - his out of office message says he's away until 31 Aug. I hope you can wait that long...
