I agree with this too. Hated La Haine, loved Delicatessen. La Haine is one of those films that has gained critical acclaim because of its mixture of art and naturalism, but ultimately it's up-the-arse claptrap, and doesn't deserve the kudos it seems to receive.

I loved Delicatessen. But there was another film made by one of them, made afterwards, about fleas and children. Anyone know what that was called? I love that too, although it never seemed to get much notice or that type of film wasn't in fashion or somthing.

I got Delicatessen on DVD for my Christmas. Will defo need to get round to watching it along with quite a few other potential greats I have sitting waiting to be watched on my DVD shelf. I thought Micmacs was fantastic fun.

Hope all is well.

Dan.

Never got much notice.. by whom? It's always been on the list of Weird Films You Should Check Out for film fans. 7.7 stars at IMDb from thousands of votes, nominated for awards. It's safe to say people know about it.
