Frasier: The Complete Sixth Season

For a pompous slaphead, Dr Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) has dated some hot women. In this season alone he did the dirty with Teri Hatcher and Laura Harring and went out with Amy Brenneman and Virginia Madsen at the same time! This comes to a head in episode 21 and shows why US TV comedy misses the Seattle shrink – no sitcom today juggles erudite self-deprecation, relationship satire and full-on farce. The year opens with Frasier desperate and in denial over the loss of his radio job and closes with brother Niles (David Hyde Pierce) desperate and in denial over his unrequited love for dad Martin’s (John Mahoney) live-in carer, Daphne (Jane Leeves). Woody (Harrelson) from Cheers turns up mid-season.
