Gangster Squad review

Film description

Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer is at the helm of Gangster Squad, a '40s & '50s-set crime thriller aiming to give a well-worn genre a vibrant new coat of paint.

Sean Penn heads up the bad guys, as notorious crime boss Mickey Cohen. On his case though is Josh Brolin’s LAPD man John O’Mara, and his newly formed ‘Gangster Squad’.

Played by some of the coolest young actors around, the team includes Ryan Gosling’s Jerry Wooters, Anthony Mackie’s Rocky Washington, and Giovanni Ribisi’s Conway Keeler.

Gosling also gets the opportunity to reignite his on-screen chemistry with Crazy, Stupid, Love co-star Emma Stone.

So far, Gangster Squad has released an official image or two, as well as a domestic trailer and an international trailer.
