To fans, this is the music God would make if he existed. To non-fans, whale-waffle. Icelandic originals Sigur Rós may divide opinion, but the star rating betrays where Lounge stands. Debut DVD Heima follows the softly-spoken lads on a homecoming tour, dropping into deserted fish factories, protest marches and the odd school to play their ethereal, euphoric pop. The music is extraordinary, the direction by Dean DeBlois sublime – think Malick doing MTV promos and you’re almost there. Heartfelt and humorous, if you’re not pulsating during the Reykjavík finale you’re probably kaput.
