Fox tried to rework the gold-digging gals formula yet again, this time setting it in New York with three females instead of two (Monroe is joined by Lauren Bacall and Betty Grable). Director Jean Negulesco is no Howard Hawks, the plot wears perilously thin at times and the lack of a few good song-and-dance numbers makes itself felt. Still, it gets by on studio glitz and Monroe's irresistible star-power.
