Jack The Giant Slayer is Bryan Singer's attempt to mount a lavish fairytale reimagining. In 3D.

Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: First Class) stars as the titular beanstalk-tackler. A farmboy yearning for adventure, Jack gets more than he bargained for when he gets his hands on a few magic beans.

When Princess Isabelle is whisked to the kingdom at the top of the stalk, Jack joins the brigade of knights who are sent to rescue her. Rounding out the cast are Ewan McGregor's dashing knight, Ian McShane's arrogant king, and Stanley Tucci's nefarious royal advisor.

Singer called the film "the most traditional thing I've ever done" when he spoke to Total Film, back when it was still called Jack The Giant Killer.
