By the end of King Of The Hill’s third season, the show was so good it prevented The Simpsons from winning a sixth Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program and its doozy of a cliffhanger (Peggy plummets out of a plane with a faulty parachute) ensured that season four started with a bang – Hank’s wife hitting the ground almost as quickly as the writers hit their stride.
