There's nothing stupid about Billy Wilder's snappy take on the sex war. Rat Pack bad boy Dean Martin is the lounge lizard Lothario trapped in a backwater town after his car breaks down. Prone to headaches unless he gets his daily lay (aren't we all?), he's a sitting duck for the manipulative attentions of a scheming local songwriter (Ray Walston) who's desperate to hit the big time - - even if it means hiring local whore Polly the Pistol (Kim Novak) to charm his rampant trousersnake.
