Liberal Arts review

Film description

Elizabeth Olsen’s played a troubled runaway (Martha Marcy May Marlene), a terrorised young woman (Silent House) and a paranormal investigator (Red Lights).

All of which could be described as ‘gruelling’. Luckily, in Liberal Arts she’s finally getting to take things a little easier as a free-spirited college student.

Directed by, written by and starring How I Met Your Mother alumnus Josh Radnor, Liberal Arts follows Jesse (Radnor), a 35-year-old neurotic who’s worried that he’s already lived all of his best days.

When he goes to give a talk at his old college, he meets 19-year-old student Zibby (Olsen). Immediately drawn to the confident and precocious young woman, Jesse wonders if it’s too late to start over.

A sizzling romantic drama featuring some fantastic chemistry between Radnor and Olsen, Liberal Arts is a strong second film from Radnor, who also impressed with his debut, Happythankyoumoreplease.

Liberal Arts opens in cinemas on 5 October 2012. Will you be going to see it? Tell us below.
