Remade for the 7,000th time, this '90s incarnation was cast with some of Hollywood's most able females (Winona Ryder, Susan Sarandon and Claire Danes). Be prepared, however, to arrange some suspension for your disbelief when we're told that Ryder's character Jo is meant to be a plain tomboy.
