Michael Moore’s docs have smuggled some knotty issues in front of America’s popcorn-gnawers. But, for Canadians Debbie Melnyk and Rick Caine, he’s a fraud who builds his cases on selective editing, bad stats and lies. The duo slip into their target’s perceived faults (hysterical presentation; tweaked timelines; partial interviewees), but bag their money-shot when an ex-colleague of Moore reveals being asked to bury details of an interview between the director and General Motors boss Roger Smith (ie Roger & Me’s evasive corporate honcho).
