For years it was rumoured that Martin Scorsese would be bringing his peerless filmmaking talents to the life story of rat-packer Dean Martin. But while those never came to fruition, it looks like he might just have switched focus to the leader of the pack – Frank Sinatra.
According to Tina Sinatra, the crooner/actor/lounge lizard’s youngest daughter, Scorsese will not make the man out to be a Mafia stooge, a story that dogged him for years – and continued after his death.
Don’t hold your breath waiting for the project to arrive in cinemas just yet, though: Scorsese has a full development plate and is only rumoured to be interested in the Sinatra story. There’s no ink on any deals yet.
