13-minute featurette for The Dark Knight Rises: watch now

"An elemental conflict between good and evil"

The Dark Knight Rises has released a new, 13-minute featurette featuring interviews with the cast and crew, as well as a few snippets of footage here and there.

It's a fairly comprehensive piece, and without being exactly spoilery, you still might want to avoid it if you're trying to go in fresh. That said, if you've been following the many trailers and TV spots, there's not too much you won't already have seen before…

It's great to get Chris Nolan's take on proceedings, and just seeing him on set, touching up a chalk bat-symbol by hand, feels terribly reassuring that this third film will be able to live up to the two that have gone before.

Take a look at the new featurette, below…

Now if that wasn't enough to get you champing at the bit for the film's official release, we don't know what will. Plus, we absolutely love Tom Hardy's reaction to seeing Christian Bale in this Batman gear. It's how we feel, every time we watch one of these films.

"Some people want to watch the world burn," quotes Hardy. "Well Bane's come to pull the pin on the grenade." The Dark Knight Rises opens in the UK on 20 July 2012.

What are you hoping to see in The Dark Knight Rises? Tell us, below...

Bloody nora, less than 2 weeks to go and we are already getting the DVD special features. YES I KNOW I don't have to watch it, the point is (as remarked in this months ' Is it me?' section) that the deluge of previews and promos are having being somewhat counter-productive effect. in some cases, they sap away the mystery and thrill of watching a film for the first time. I can remember when all you got was a trailer and a feature spread on a few magazines.

If you actually watch the feature you'll see that it gives little away and just makes you super excited to see the movie in two weeks.

That was fantastic!!! Personally, I would have preferred the kind of viral marketing they used last time - that was a masterful piece of advertising, ahead of its time even today, let alone four years ago. However, this video REALLY got my heart pumping, and I really REALLY can't wait to see this film now!!!

Nolan makes the ultimate lead-up video, hopefully in response to all the cheesy This Is The AvengersStorySo Far.... youtube mashups. I hope catwoman steals the show

a few new bits in there but no massive spoilers really. Gave me goosebumps though. Can't believe how much actual footage Nolan has used instead of going the CGI route. He has made the most of an already huge budget it seems. I think it will be hard to single out any one performance from its cast going on what we've seen so far

The movie itself is nearing 3 hours!, put all the footage youve seen and it dosnt even equate to 15 mins! they are confident in how much they have shown as they have given nothing away, infact I bet they arent even scratching the surface. TDKR is going to be incredible, in both quality and box office.......and it deserves it, so glad Nolan took on this project! CAN .......NOT..........WAIT!!!!......................XMX
