Christian Bale
Who? Putting the Angry in A-List, Bale is one of the most bankable stars of his generation, currently heading two franchises and with a slate of high profile films coming in the future.
Why He’d Be Good For The Role: Bale brings a presence to any role he inhabits, and immerses himself so completely he’ll often stay in character not just for the duration of the shoot, but for all the press afterwards.
After Depp, there’ll be a rather large pair of metaphorical boots to fill, and Bale certainly has the clout. Though any Jack Sparrow played by Christian Bale is going to be a very different proposition indeed…
Plot Adjustments: Everything just got very serious in the Caribbean… deadly serious, and Jack Sparrow is proper pissed off.
Storming around the seas like a one-man squall, Sparrow chews more scenery than a Jack Nicholson vs. Al Pacino Scenery Chowdown, gruffly barking his dialogue at anyone and everyone in earshot.
Turns out that someone has interrupted his work flow, and Jack isn’t going to rest until that person loses their job, their family and their lives…

i think jeremy davis would b the best direction to go wid jack sparrow he wud bring the eccentricity depp brought to the role

I first thought of JGL, he'd be a good choice for a younger Sparrow. Downey Jr could be amazing too.

you guys have to be joking.first of all,johny depp is ireplaceable.if he doesn't play jack sparrow they should just write him out of the story.it's that simple.and second:ROBERT PATTINSON COULD REPLACE JOHNY DEPP?!!?really?based on what?!a whiney performance in twillight!?!?jesus,it's almost blasphemy,i tell you!!

I'm sorry but Robert Pattinson could NEVER EVER IN A BILLION YEARS REPLACE JOHNNY DEPP. HE'S NOT THAT TALENTED. HE ALREADY HAS THE TWILIGHT SAGA LET THAT BE HIS KEY TO FAME. HE WOULD COMPELTELY DESTROY THE POTC FRANCHISE! Jim Carrey hates doing sequels so I doubt they could sign him. Sean Penn has entered a retirement phase to spend time with family, that's why he left The Three Stooges Movie. Christian Bale is too busy with the Batman franchise and The Terminator franchise. We do not need to see him in the POTC franchise. Johnny Depp is Jack Sparrow. No Johnny should mean no Jack Sparrow, create new characters.

Why isn't Skeet Ulrich on the list? He's pretty much a dead-ringer for Depp, so that's the look covered, he's a really good actor (Scream and the TV show Jericho are good examples of this) and, to be fair, he deserves a high-profile leading-man role.

Without Depp playing Jack Sparrow the Pirates franchise is dead in the water. His performances made those movies. Without him in the first Pirates movie it would have been very different and would most likely have ended with the first attempt to create a movie based on a Disney theme ride.

POTC 4 shouldnt exist without Depp. If RPatz EVER attempted to play Sparrow, i'd personally hunt down the production team and slaughter them. WHO came up with that suggestion? Pleeease tell me you were joking, Robert Pattinson? SERIOUSLY? WTF!

I love Joseph Gordon Levitt, but can't see him in this role. It'd be great if he gave it a shot, but it seems unlikely as hell.

No one could ever replace Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow. If Johnny decides not to do it. The project needs to dropped or write a new character in. When they were talking about Jack having a brother my daughter and I though Robert Downey Jr would perfect. They don't look alot a like, but they are wonderful at recreating believable characters. Joseph Gordon Levitt- Cute but not POTC material. Robert Pattinson- NO. I really don't see it.He doesn't have the look and he hasn't had enough experience. The only character he has played that was okay was Edward. Jim Carrey-Funny but no. Sean Penn- Doesn't have the look. Russell Brand-NO this is a Disney movie. He is very vulgar. I didn't like the idea when they were talking about him to play Jack's brother. Christian Bale-great actor, but no. It's not a part suited for him. No one can replace Johnny as Jack. He's the only one that can play the part and give it justice.

People underestimate Pattinson. His performance in How To Be is very quirky and off the wall and he has great comic timing. Not something the horrible Twilight takes advantage of. He could pull off the look with ease.But I dont think he should do it because all the male geeks will pick and pick and moan and groan for ever about it.

Pattinson could look the part and get that drunken swagger off to a T. He's a witty guy in real life so I dont see a problem. But fans of Depp would want to lynch him. Persoanlly I think Depp is too one note in the films and infact the films have bored me for years. So if Disney need to pep them up if Depp is sulking so be it. Depp doesnt draw in the crowds any more e.g Public Enemies bombed at the box office.

Sparrow isnt really that appealing to women as he currently stands. Depp kissing Keira wasnt very sexy at all. Definitely a EWW moment for me. Unless they want to surround Depp or a new Sparrow with a romantic male lead e.g Pattinson as his brother (which would work) then it might be time to reboot the franchise and show a much younger Sparrow. I dont think any actor would be thrilled to take over that role as it stands as its such a caracature. I'd vote for Pattinson coming in as Depp's brother. I'm a bit tired of Depp's performance in the franchise. There are no surprises any more. He's backed the character into a cul de sac and there's no way out for him.

Noone can really replace johnny depp fully as jack sparrow. depp made the character his own and if sparrow is recast a sequel wont have any of the things that made the trilogy good however if disney feel thye have to do another pirates film without depp then russel brand would probablly be the best one, mainly because his whole personality seems to be copied from jack sparrow in the pirates films. this would end up bypassing his inability to act as well
