The first trailer for animated post-apocalyptic adventure 9 has arrived online.

Featuring the voices of Elijah Wood, Jennifer Connelly, John C Reilly, Christopher Plummer and Crispin Glover, 9 is set in a nightmarish post-apocalyptic world where humanity’s time is coming to an end.

A scientist creates a team of warriors who are charged with saving our future.

Directed by Shane Acker and based on his own short, 9 looks like a crossbreed of its director and the styles of its producers – Tim Burton and Wanted’s Timur Bekmambetov.

Knitted heroes

Our heroes look like knitted puppets, giving it a unique style. That said, it really is time to ditch the “from the visionary” director tag on trailers – it just sounds pompous.
