Two new Dark Shadows TV spots: watch now

"I have spent the last two centuries locked in a box"

Dark Shadows has continued its media offensive with the release of a pair of new TV spot, in which Johnny Depp’s vampire finds himself coming to terms with the vagaries of the ’70s.

Much of the footage has already been seen in the full theatrical trailer, but there are a couple of new scenes worth checking out in both, including an attempt by Depp’s character to recreate the kind of sleeping arrangements he’s become accustomed to after spending so long in a coffin, and a fairly un-PC reaction to the idea of a female doctor.

Take a look at the first new spot, below…

And here's the second one...

No sign of Eva Green’s slinky witch this time around, which is kind of a shame, but Jackie Earle Haley is still on hand, looking as pleasingly gormless as ever.

The film follows Depp’s character, Barnabus Collins, as he is freed from his centuries-old tomb and sets about reconnecting with his descendants. Their reunion doesn’t run smoothly however, particularly when Collins’ return becomes known to the woman who first buried him (Green).

Also starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Chloë Moretz, Helena Bonham Carter and Johnny Lee Miller, Dark Shadows opens in the UK on 11 May 2012. Get ready to party like it’s 1972…
