A new American Werewolf In London?

Remake rumour howls again…

Just what is it with ‘80s werewolf movies at the moment? First Teen Wolf, now the legendary An American Werewolf In London is rumoured to get the remark treatment.

Bloody Disgusting has heard that John Landis – who isn’t exactly opposed to the idea of a remake – has sold the rights to Dimension Films.

Question is, do we need another Werewolf movie, in London or otherwise? While Teen Wolf could conceivably be updated in today's high school-obsessed era, we’re not sure anyone needs to try and top Landis’ seminal horror, nor Rick Baker’s amazing effects (below).

Sure, not every moment still holds up, but it remains a superb horror comedy and really doesn’t need a new version. After all, doesn’t anyone remember the truly awful sequel set in Paris? CG Werewolves? No thanks!

Oh, and the last time Dimension did American werewolves, we got Cursed. Again we say: no ta.

I'm getting a bit tired of them kicking my childhood to death with their remakes. It aint broke. Please don't try to fix it.

Resistance is futile. You can't stop the remakes. The best we can do is ignore them (which we won't).

What a disgrace. Just watched the original last week and Rick Bakers effects still amaze, especially the transformation scene. What delivers the 'awe' factor is that it was all done without the use of cgi and leaves you wondering how it was created, and appreciating the work it took to get to that point. Special effects aside, the movie was fun and at parts had real scare's after watching it the first couple of times...they should throw this idea of a remake out the plane along with the mexicans!

Get a life, if they want to do a remake why not let them. If its any good great if not box office flop millions down the drain. If you dont like the idea you dont have to watch it.
