Adrien Brody has signed on to play the lead in Russell Mulcahy’s action movie The Courier.
Written by Wanted’s Michael Brandt and Derek Haas, it follows a carrier who has to fight his way across country to deliver a briefcase to an underworld kingpin.
Trouble is, there are corrupt cops and rival gang members chasing him at every turn, reports Variety.
It kicks off shooting in January and apparently it really is an indie action pic, funded by Arclight Films – and sounds like Brody wants in on a little of Jason Statham’s work.
Let’s just hope he hasn’t crossed the Stath – otherwise the film will end up being retitled The Limp.
