With Bryan Singer fast reassembling his old mutant pals for forthcoming X-sequel, X-Men: Days Of Future Past, another old face has expressed an interest in returning: Alan Cumming.
Cumming played Nightcrawler, the blue-skinned teleporter in X-Men 2, and according to the Scottish star, he’d be only too happy to return for another outing.
“Someone told me that Nightcrawler doesn't appear in the story, but I don't know,” said Cumming. “I think they would have called by now, but I really like [X-Men 2] and everyone really responded to Nightcrawler. Enough time has elapsed that I would like to go back.”
If he does get the call, Cumming will line up alongside Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman and Famke Janssen, who are thought to be reprising their roles as Magneto, Xavier, Wolverine and Jean Grey respectively.
Directed by Singer and co-starring James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and Nicholas Hoult, X-Men: Days Of Future Past will open in the UK on 18 July 2014.

Nightcrawler was very well handled in Xmen 2, I think he'd be a great addition, They just need to somehow get Brian Cox back in as Striker; that man is a legend!

I still love the scene from X2 where Nightcrawler storms the Whitehouse.

Agreed. It was one of the most amazing opening sequences I've seen. As soon as it started, all chatter in the cinema stopped and all was silent til after the knife dropped to the desk. Incredible. How many times have you experienced that kind of reaction in recent years? Would love to see him return to the role.

With his father Azazel having joined Magneto at the end of First Class it practically begs for Nightcrawler to be in Future Past; Cumming did an excellent job depicting Kurt and I'd love to see him back. Can we get more Colossus though please?
