Alex Winter talks Bill & Ted 3

The Stallyns will ride again

Bill & Ted 3 sounds as though it’s definitely happening, with Alex Winter following up Keanu Reeves’ recent comments by talking to MTV about the sequel’s new direction.

“I think the reality is there probably will be another one,” began Winter, lending weight to Reeves' assertion that a script has been drafted and sent out to studios.

“The movies were always about rock and roll,” he continues. “That was a big part of the movies, so [we’ll explore] what’s happened to rock and roll in the last twenty years.”

“The movie’s gonna get in and play with some of that stuff. Where’s rock, where are we, what’s happened to the whole idea of saving the world, or what hasn’t happened?”

So, will Wyld Stallyns have seen all their old hits given a deep house remix? Will their vocals have been auto-tuned to within an inch of their life? Or will they simply have gone bust in the wake of illegal downloads and the collapse of the record industry? Whatever happens, we’re sure they’ll roll with the punches in their trademark bodacious fashion…

Are you excited for more Bill and Ted, or is this news less than radical? Tell us, below.

A third movie would be so out of touch with todays generation.

Only way I see this working is if Bill and Ted have to go back in time to combat the mighty Death of music called the spice girls, once destroyed the huge influx of manufactured bands and talentless idiots manage to let good music win.

The second movie wrapped it all up in the end, this won't make any sense until I see the movie.

Marilyn Manson. Rammstein. The Darkness. Rob Zombie. System of a Down. ..and ... Tokio Hotel? Seriously?

I think the concern with that post was that you're grouping people like Tokio Hotel, Lil Chris and f*****g Adam Lambert in with "rock musicians". More specifically, making them out to be viable rock musicians who could appear in this without making it a complete null of a film. Anyway, I think a big part of why this film could very well be a massive fail is the sound track. The sound tracks for the first two were awesome. I can't imagine a Bill & Ted film being backed by modern rock music. Not that there's anything wrong with modern rock music (but that's an argument for another day), it just wouldn't look right.
