Alias: Not the end?

Producer talks of possible spy show spin off

We told you a little while ago that JJ Abrams top-rated ABC show Alias will end next year. However, it seems that even if Jennifer Garner embarks on her last mission as Sydney Bristow at the end of the fifth season, there is a possibility that a new show will rise from the Alias ashes.

“I would say we haven't seen the end of all things Alias,” says Executive Producer Jeff Pinkner. “There are versions of this show which could exist after this season. There are plenty of stories we'd love to tell.”

One scenario discussed between Pinkner and Mission: Impossible 3 director Abrams revolves around the show’s villains Sark (David Anders), Peyton (Amy Acker) and Sloane (Ron Rifkin). "It's the triumvirate of evil!" Pinkner laughs; although he’s quick to point out that discussions are at an early stage and ABC are not even involved in the chats just yet.

Pinkner refused to be drawn on the rumour that he and Abrams (also the man behind ABC's hugely successful island based weird-a-thon Lost) have been throwing around the idea of taking Sydney to the big-screen, with Garner stepping in to reprise her career-breaking role.
