Amber Heard is in final negotiations to land the coveted female lead in Johnny Depp’s Hunter S Thompson novel adaptation Rum Diary.
Bruce Robinson is directing the pic, which will see Depp’s hard-drinking journo Paul Kemp falling in love with the girlfriend (Heard) of a colleague.
But things grow even more difficult when he tries to convince her to run away with him.
It’s been something of a tough competition for the role, with Keira Knightley and Scarlett Johansson among those trying to nab it, though many actresses have been turned off by the nudity requirements.
That doesn’t really bother a woman who spends most of her latest film, The Informers, in the altogether.
Robinson and his cast start shooting at the end of March in Puerto Rico.
Did they make the right choice? Would you have preferred Keira or Scarlett – and would they have wussied out and brought in body doubles?
